Holo to December with Ipsy’s christmas bag, starting with the skin underneath to the makeup on top.

1. Grace & Stella Dead sea mud mask. 

This mud mask is pink! And reminds me alot of the Caudalie clay pink mud mask. Mud masks are really good at deep cleansing and extracting impurities from underneath the skin. This is from the famous dead sea, They dry and absorb the oiliness and all the bad gunk out of your face. 

2. Pacifica rainbow crystals liquid mineral strobe.

This is a multi use highlighter which is super similar to cover fx multi use glitter. You can spread it on your face or body and it works. This is a “holographic” shade called Nebula or more like duo chrome with a frosty finish. It shifts from blue to pink. This looks very pretty on the cheeks as highlighter too! Altho it requires fast blending as the liquid does dry quite fast. 

3. Catrice eyeshadow in Luminous Lilac.

Catrice is a drugstore brand that ive seen sold in Watsons or Guardian alike, and i have never tried their shadows before. On first impression I didn’t like the colour I received because i don’t easily wear purple in my everyday makeup. Next, as seen in the swatch below, i find the formula to be sheer and not as pigmented as other satin shades from various palettes that i have. Usually, matte shades are much more draggy and sheerer than satin or metallic shades. But in this case, it took several swipes for the lilac to show up.

4. F.A.R.A.H Tapered blending brush 35E. 

An eye blending brush with soft synthetic bristles and a flat middle stick for easier maneuver and gives a better grip when doing up the eyes. Blending brushes are the most versatile type of brush that i own, i often use them not just for blending eye shadows, but also for highlighting.

5. Ciate glitter flip liquid lipstick - Infamous.

I could not find out what the shade name was until a recent google search and this is the “Infamous” dark brick red shade. A while back i saw some youtube videos of this lippies going viral with the subject of weird glitter lipstick and now they seem to be the norm. How this works is that when you purse your lips together it reveals the glittera underneath and then you have red and glittery christmas lips. But be warned tho, glitters are quiet a bit of a mess to remove. 

6. Kiss & Smink The everything blush stick - Tulum.

I don’t really use much of blush sticks because i have a fear thag i will swipe away the Foundation underneath that is already layered on. So what i would do is swipe a lil bit on my fingers and then dab on my cheeks. That way i get to control the amount of product on my face. This is a sweet peachy shade which i can work around. 

This December bag truly fits the Christmas season with the glitter and snowy icy frost in almost all the products. Ipsy hit the nail on the head hard with this month.

Many were excited for the December Boxyluxe and the few were gunning to see if December was better than September’s first launch. This December there are 10 items in total in the box with offers of some variation, but is it worth the $49.99 price tag? We’ll see!

1. Pretty Vulgar The powder room translucent setting powder.

Known for their unique vintage style packaging, this setting powder looks super classy on your vanity table and it also comes with its own powder puff in all pink. The setting powder is in a light skin tone shade and is not totally white translucent, so no white flashbacks will occur and the powder also works to set the foundation all over or to just bake the under eyes and forehead.

2. Suva Beauty Protege palette.

This palette is extremely easy to create looks on the eyes, its a palette that comprises of  the basic browbone shade, the blending shade and also the shiny pop of colour. It also comes with two gorgeous highlighter shades at the side. You can easily use poetic on the browbone, conscious on the creaseline and blended outwards, finish with structure on the middle lid. 

3. Spongelle body wash infused buffer.

A heavenly smelling soap infused buffer, this is a one of kind product that i have never seen nor use before. I was quite thrilled to try this out, it is apparently a sponge filled with body wash and is meant for multi usage. It just needs water to lather up and then use as a buffer on the body. It might work better for bathtub usage compared to a quick shower.

4. Violet voss Pro Holy grail palette.

If you want a palette thats gonna have all the 50 shades of brown PLUS some splash kf cranberries and soft pinks, this is the HG palette for you. Amazing soft buttery and pigmented formula glides on effortlessly and is guaranteed to blend easily with minimum effort. This palette has also got every shade you need to cover your entire eye space for those neutral brown smoky eye. 

5. LUXIE complete face rose gold brush set. 

I already own a few of these Luxie brushes with the pink and rose gold ferrule, the blush brush is my absolute Everyday favourite. Luxie is made of synthetic bristles and is a cruelty free vegan brand. Thus would be the perfect set for anyone wanting to start on makeup application and its also a great set for you to replace the cheaper versions you own with something of better quality. 

6. Grande mascara Lash boosting formula. 

I love the mascara packaging as the tube feels raw like real gold and the swirls gives off a unique design. The mascara is filled with a lash boosting formula which means there are tiny lash fibers enswirled with the mascara to create even longer and enhanced eyelashes. 

7. Tarte tarteist shimmering lip paint.

I usually love Tarte’s matte lip paints, so this time the shimmering glossy lip paints are something new. I dont normally like to wear gloss but i have tried to layer them on top of a matte lip but with my wild crazy hair it always tend to get stuck in my glossy lips. But this is a lovely nude shimmer that is easy to pull off. 

8. Elemis Pro collagen marine cream 30ml.

I have not heard of this product before but it is apparently quite a popular anti aging product. A quick search reveals that this anti wrinkle cream is quite effective and only time will tell if it does work on me or not. At the moment, being in the milennial age ive not found a good use for this yet. 

9. Crimes of beauty portable charger & 10. GLAM AF makeup pouch.

A super handy portable charger and make up pouch for long days at work or day trip. Not only the design is edgy but its also trendy and handy sized.

Lately i realised that it has been rather hard to get a sneakpeek of the sephora box and you’re left with mostly not much choice but to accept what you’ll get when the box arrives at the end of the month. This month, upon seeing my November box i was already feeling a little bit down.

Amika Silken up dry conditioner.

This dry conditioner is a wonderful invention, i do not use dry shampoo as i have this fear that the product will leave weird white stuffs in my hair so dry conditioner sounds better. Since i can shampoo my hair as usual and use the dry conditioner after, i found that the conditioner immediately makes the roots softer and light weight after spraying. It also smells good and fresh. If you dont have time to go through the whole shower routine, this product is a good replacement. 

Purity Philosophy.

Third time receiving this in a subscription box. Still dont like it. Going to skip it and think of ways on how i can get rid of it.

 Sephora Cream lip stain #40

This isn’t the first time I’ve tried the Sephora own cream lip stain, I already know that i love the formula. It smells like vanilla, is non drying and has a cream to matte texture. #40 is a beige nude shade that looks very similar to kat von d’s bow and arrow (which is only slightly more brown). I will definitely want to purchase more of their colours range.

Lancome Hydra zen Anti stress gel.

This product is designed to reduce the effects of environmental and emotional stress with a unique NeuroCalm TM formula. While everyday is stress day for me, i appreciate a product that helps aids relaxation to calm our inner self. However, after trying the product on i did not really feel a sense of calmness settling over. In fact, the ‘rose’ scent got my nose feeling slightly irritated. I also have acne prone skin, with little bumps of breakouts that turns into a full on pimple within 1-2 days. So this product actually aggravated it slightly and thus i experience more bunps the next few days.

Laura Mercier translucent loose powder.

Its great to receive this bestselling translucent powder, it is actually one of the best setting and baking powder out there. It also comes in a darker colour for darker skin tones that prevents the face from looking ashy. I have bought this and repurchased a few times when i run out so i know that it performs very well. Its smooth and non cakey when applied, and great for use when baking on the under eyes. It is also on the costly side but the good thing is that its an investment on its own as a tub can last you quite a while.

Dolce & Gabbana Light blue Eau De Toilette

Described as a fruity floral scent, the Dolce & Gabbana Light blue perfume is an easily likeable scent that suits any occassion. Easily a pass for me and i get fussy with overpowering scents usually, this mouth watering fresh scent has hints of lime and cedar and will remind you of summer days.

November is my birthday month and what more can a scorpio girl want then new lipstick, blush and two days worth of sheet masking to achieve the glow from within look. Note: I redeemed one item from the ipsy point redemption but I can’t remember which one was the item in this bag so im just going to review everything as part of the bag.

Tarte 24 hour amazonian clay blush in Quirky.

Quirky is a soft peach with hints of coral that is subtle and nothing too bright. Of course as we know with the Tarte clay blushes the formula is buildable, long lasting and the blushes do not easily break in pan. I have a few of the blushes (seduce, quirky, first class, feisty) and i find that its hard to hit pan with these blushes. 

Jelly pong pong Cosmic lights - Pulsar

Won’t everyone agree that the brand name is super cute? It reminds me of jelly and ping pong balls somehow. Cosmic light is a multi functional pigment that you can use for multiple purposes, other than the usual use as eyeshadow art, you can also use it for highlighting the face. They come in various range of colours and theres even a set, i got the shade pulsar which is like a light metal blue. I’ve not found a purpose for this pigment yet because i am like the average consumer who use makeup but lack the artistic creativity (and mostly time). But i saw a google image of this artistic design using the cosmic light pigment above and it really does look out of this world.

Nyx velvet matte lipstick in Volcano

Its hard to get back to the routine of drawing around the lips with the bullet lipstick eversince the big bang of doe foot applicators and liquid lipsticks. So pardon the weird under drawing in the lip line, i found myself forgetting the art of drawing the lip shape again. Volcano is a burnt red shade that closely resembles its name. A very wearable red for most skin tone. It does transfer with eating food and drinks, but it is a velvet matte formula and as such, last longer than the average creme formula.

Ciate Extraordinary Translucent powder

This powder appears white but is actually translucent and as the web description says, it doesn’t leave a white cast on the face either. Suits for all skin tone from light to dark, this powder sets and bakes and is great for absorbing shine if you don’t like the dewy look. I have an oily t zone so usually the main areas i dab this powder on would be a bit on the under eye after concealer, the nose and the forehead. I look shine free and matte throughout the entire day, which is why i really love this product.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

This gel serum is loaded with the popular hyaluronic acid for maximum moisturising effect and locking down moisture  so that your skin never ever feel dry. This gel serum is not heavy on the skin and is easily absorbed in, making it easy to layer makeup after as it hydrates, plump and nourish the skin.

Timeless Beauty bar - Sheet masks

Lastly we have some sheet masks lined up and they are a set whoch consists of Up in the clouds and Glam & glow. Up in the clouds is the perf mask for when you need a energizing rest for the face and glam and glow is a good prep for when youre heading out for the night and need a refresher. These masks are great and i like the aesthetic look of the packaging too.

That sums up the November bag. I have seen various variations of the November bag with some people receiving Huda instead of Nyx lipsticks, let me just say that thats not a good substitute since there is the very obvious price difference and makes the other subscribers like myself feel abit sad.
