Sephora Play Box πŸ‘ MAY 2017 πŸ‘

SEPHORA PLAY BOX
MAY 2017
"Beauty on the rise"

Sephora play box costs $10usd per month, curated from all things new and popular from Sephora itself.

May's bag came a little bit different than the usual sephora play drawstring canvas bags. This month the items came in the box as usual, but in a plastic square envelope thats waterproof and perfect for bringing to the beach. There are 6 products this month. Here is the info sheet:

1. Rahua omega 9 hair mask:
I have recently cut all my hair off and am seen sporting a really short undercut pixie now. Hence ive not yet tried the hair mask yet. It does however have a seal so i might be swapping this or giving it away.

2. Tatcha pure one step cleansing oil:
This cleansing oil promises to wipe away makeup and any leftover residues in one step. I tried them dry as per instructions and it did start to lather up after a while but it was tugging at my face cause there wasnt any water involved, when i do try to wash my face first and use the product the oil wont interact with the wet surface at all. So i have mixed feelings about this cleansing oil. I find that it works best for removing the heavily made up part of your face. For instance, like eyeshadow, eyeliner & mascara, and rubbing off slowly with cotton pads.

3. Nudestix magnetic lip crayon in Greystone:
This shade is a bit too dark for me, i dont really fancy the whole brown lips thing. But i think if the colour wasnt that dark i would love to wear them on all day. I swatched this on the lips and i find that the texture is smooth and highly pigmented. They also did not budge at all even after wiping, hence the'magnetic' reference.

4. Trestique highlighter stick:
I love the colour of the highlighter, its a champagne with pink undertones. I usually prefer pinks to golds. Hence this colour suits me. However infond that kost creamy product i put on top of my foundation and powder tends to move the bottom layer abit. So i like powder versions of highlighters more compared to cream sticks. This glides on smoothly tho. No tugging.

5. Stella by Tocca perfume:
This has top notes of bitter orange and bloody orange, middle notes of wild diamond orchid, spicy lily. And bottom notes of sheer musk and sandalwood. The smell ismt too overpowering but it leaves a nice refreshing scent throughout the day. Staying power is good too, i really love the perfume sample as i went through the sample bottle within few weeks!

6. Hungarian water essence by Belif:
Korean skincare is one of the trending things in the beauty world right now. This product claims to recharge your skin with deep, lasting hydration. To be used after cleansing and toning as an extra hydration step. The pumper dispenses a clear white liquid (resembling water) when spread out on the skin it is not sticky and is easily absorbed into the skin, then it dries completely. This is good to use on days that are quite dry.

Out of the 6 products received, i actually only loved the tocca perfume sample as thats the one ive used up the most of. Next item that would get good use is the highlighter. I love the brand nudestix and their quality is amazing, im just not a fan of the brown shade given. I believe ill be using the belif once in a while to prep for before i slather makeup on. Next the cleanser, i tried to make it work a few times but im not a fan of the oil. And lastly the hair mask, i hate hair products that needs to be used in the shower. Im okay with leave in conditioners etc.

Conclusion: May's bag 🌟🌟🌟/5

LIP MONTHLY πŸ’¦ JUNE 2017 πŸ’¦

LIP MONTHLY
JUNE 2017

Lip monthly is a monthly subscription bag that consists of 3-4 full size items. Costs $12.95 per month. And usually sends 3 lip products and at least 1 other beauty product.

This month's bag is a designable plain canvas drawstring bag, usually the bag comes in a small zipped pouch. They are actually hosting a giveaway for the nicest designed canvas bag. Total retail value for June's bag is $71usd. Lets take a look at whats inside:

1. Cargo bronzer: A warm rich chocolate brown with tiny gold specks. Claims to be waterproof and perfect for the summer pool parties. I love cargo products and the fact that they are not stingy at all when it comes to the amount of product that you get. This is such a wearable bronzer for days when youre in a rush but you need a light dusting of glow.

2. Steve Laurent Lipgloss: I received a very wearable nude metallic gloss, it has micro shimmer in it but doesnt show too obviously when lip swatched. However, i love the gloss itself plus that metallic box packaging.

3. Seraphine velvet lip & cheek crayon
Quince + Crimson longlasting velvet lip & cheek crayon.
A very soft and creamy lip crayon that lines and fills in nicely. Bright vivid red shade that's perfect for my work and very handy to bring around for emergencies. And also, the packaging is straight up pretty. I have not tried it as a cheek crayon yet because the colour is a bit too bright for my cheeks. But i like the brand itself.

Here are the swatches for the 3 products above:

4. Model co lip crayon:
Another lip crayon in a raspberry red shade, ive not opened it for swatches yet but reviews say they're not as opaque as the Seraphine crayon but is a little bit more sheer.

This month's bag is a nice way of saying goodbye to lip monthly as this is my last bag sent from them before i unsubscribed last month.

I personally think that lip monthly has potential, i was attracted from the products sponsored like ofra for example. But they need to get new sponsors, and they need to update their website for the reward point system as the page is just a dummy and does nothing when users are looking to review etc. Reviews I read about them are old. And the bags needs some revamping too. πŸ€™πŸΌ

Sephora Play Box 🐝APRIL 2017 🐝

SEPHORA PLAY BOX
APRIL 2017
'STEP IT UP'

April's box is all about skin care and how to ensure your skin gets the most beauty rest it needs to restore your youthfulness. With an exception of two makeup product included.

1. Sephora waterproof eye makeup remover: I love makeup removers as they are always handy to remove those stubborn waterproof makeup! This is also travel sized friendly so its perfect for bring to work or on the go.

2. Purity made simple 3-in-1 cleanser: ive honestly yet to try this out. But i like the simple packaging. Maybe will try it out soon after my detoxifying cleanser routine is done.

3. Peter Thomas Roth water drench hyaluronic cloud cream: I fell in love with this moisturizer as soon as i slather it on my face, why?! Because its the type of gel that sort of melts on your face and from a cream like texture, it melts into a soft watery gel and gets easily absorbed into the face. It hydrates super well and keep my skin from dryness.

4. Makeup Forever Aqua XL eyeliner &
5. Smashbox photo finish primer:
This lightning bolt was drawn over the primer on my hand and look at how deep black that is. Pencil liners are perfect for creating that smudged smoky eye goth look. Glides on smoothly over the primer.

6. Miu Miu perfume sample in L'eau Bleue: Hmm this eau de parfum is a lil bit strong for me and i know one spritz is enough else ill get a headache from the scent. Not such a huge fan of this month's scent.

I love this month's box! It has a mixture of useful skincare products and a mixture of makeup products too. I like the balance of both worlds as beauty and skincare comes hand in hand. Also i love that there are high end brands and those from the much more expensive price range here so to get to test them out first before buying a full size one is super helpful.

Conclusion: 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5
